The American Legion Department of Mississippi is a “non-profit organization” operating IAW: “IRS PUB 3386 TAX GUIDE FOR VETERANS' ORGANIZATIONS”.
The American Legion was founded in 1919 on four pillars: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. Our moto is: For God and Country!
Using the above information and criteria, the website seeks to provide valuable information, updates, and related ways to assist our Legionnaires and Veterans desiring answers related to their personal situations and circumstances.
Information and updates related to the Officers of the Department and how to contact Posts, their Officers, etc., within the Mississippi American Legion is derived from the Post information furnished to the Department which in turn provides that to the Website Administrator.
Currently, there is an opening for an “Assistant Website Administrator”, the criteria being having computer knowledge and ability to update, change, delete and or add information on an as needed basis to the Department Website when and if the Website Administrator, for whatever reason, is not available to perform the duties.
District Commanders, Legionnaires that you know are knowledgeable about the criteria and information provided in this document and are willing to serve in this capacity and with your recommendation, request their information be forwarded to the Department Headquarters.
